A New Year and New Opportunities to Make Changes

As we enter the New Year, many of us are resolving to make changes in our lives. Some may resolve to watch what they eat and hit the gym. Others may resolve to spend more time with family. Many will resolve to cross out a few items on their life’s to-do list. However, the New Year not only provides an opportunity for us to make resolutions that will bring about positive change in our own lives, but it also gives us the chance to identify ways we can positively change the lives of others.

In this issue of eNews, you will read about how one young lawyer’s commitment to making a difference has earned him national recognition. You will also read about how one pro bono volunteer attorney has been personally affected by the changes she has brought to the lives of her pro bono clients. However, you will also find articles that identify ways you can help bring about change in the lives of others, such as educating our youth about cyber-safety or educating our communities about loan modification scams. You can also read about opportunities to help make changes in your career, whether you are seeking to grow your practice or adapt to your new role as a partner or in-house counsel.

Throughout each of the past 80 years, the Texas Young Lawyers Association has resolved to provide new opportunities for positive change in our profession and our communities. And that is one thing that will never change.
