ABA YLD Update

We hope that you will join us in Dallas during the American Bar Association Midyear Meeting this February. The Young Lawyers Division will host activities from February 7 until February 9. If you are an ABA member, there is no registration fee to attend the Midyear Meeting.

Even if you cannot attend the entire conference, you may be interested in some of the great YLD programming, including “The Spread of Alternative Resolution Methods within Local Courts – A Review (CLE),” and, “Legal Issues after a Disaster Hits (CLE).” For more information about scheduled events visit the ABA website.

This year the YLD is also hosting a new all-day workshop for growing business as a new or aspiring partner or as a solo practitioner. Join the YLD at its New Partner Workshop on February 8, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Infomart Conference Center, 1950 North Stemmons Freeway #1000, Dallas, TX. Early registration for this workshop is $199 before January 15, 2013. After January 15, 2013, registration is $249. The workshop, which features nationally known expert Stephen Fairley, provides a full day of interactive learning and networking opportunities. What you will learn:

How to Build a Referral-Based Practice and Jumpstart Your Practice
How to Double Your Revenues in 6 Months by Improving Your Lead Conversion and Fixing Your Follow-up
How to Build a Mid-6 to 7-Figure Business by Applying Best Practices
How to use the Power of Social Media to Attract Clients and Connect with Referral Sources
5 Proven Strategies to Improve the Quality and Quantity of Your Referrals

Register for the New Partner Workshop.

Lawyers Needed to Judge Competition during ABA Midyear Meeting in Dallas

The ABA Law Student Division also needs 85 lawyers and judges to participate as competition judges for the 2012?13 Negotiation Competition National Finals during the ABA Midyear Meeting February 8?9, 2013 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The ABA seeks lawyers interested in objectively evaluating the negotiation skills of the top 24 (out of 228) law-student teams from across the country and giving them useful feedback. Interested lawyers should visit this site for more details and to sign up.
