Check Out HYLA’S “Minority Report"!
By:  Wendy Miller

ATTN: HYLA Members: You do not have to look far to find the best location for useful and up-to-date local, state, and national links for resources assisting in the practice of law for Minority lawyers and law students. It is now available for you to access on our HYLA website!

The HYLA Minority Report is a resource webpage containing information on local, state, and national websites that can be used by minority attorneys and law students for professional development. HYLA committee volunteers have done the legwork for you by researching all the “known” websites designed to assist minority attorneys – and then compiling over 90 pages of possible links that enhance the minority attorney's access to information pertinent to his/her legal profession. After carefully selecting the most valuable links, the condensed page of information became our “HYLA Minority Report.”

The website is intended for all young lawyers and law students; however, our intention was to specifically target the needs of young minority attorneys in a solo practice and potential minority law students. The webpage includes not only links relevant to the practice of law, but also financial opportunities for the minority attorney and law student (such as potential clerkships, grants, and scholarships).

HYLA realizes that time is of great concern and a great commodity to young lawyers. There is so much information out there that it is almost impossible for an attorney or law student to find the time to research every possible website on their own. The HYLA Minority Report focuses on the essential links in order to save the attorney/law student valuable time by placing it on the HYLA website with the links at their fingertips. Please take advantage of the valuable information found on our Minority Report. Browse it today by going to the HYLA-Committees page and then clicking on “HYLA Minority Report.”
