The War Stories Don’t Get Any Better Than This: Four legendary Texas litigators in one place, with advice for your trial practice.
By:  Lauren Fincher, TYLA Liaison for the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas

You may never be lucky enough to try a case with one of these legendary trial lawyers, but you will want to hear them tell you how it is done. Four Texas Legal Legends – George Chandler, Hon. Royal Furgeson, Jr., Hon. Ruby Sondock, and Broadus Spivey – will give trial tips, share secrets to their successes, and explain the importance of giving back to the profession and the community. Don’t miss this opportunity: TYLA and the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas will lead the panel discussion at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Fort Worth Convention Center during the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting.

These lawyers are truly some of the best Texas has to offer:

George Chandler has distinguished himself in the courtroom for decades, specializing in plaintiffs’ personal injury and commercial trial law, and has served as the president of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association;

Judge Royal Furgeson, Jr. served as a federal district judge from 1994 to 2013 (and served as president of the Federal Judges Association), after which he became founding dean of the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law;

Justice Ruby Sondock was the first woman district court judge in Harris County, and the first woman to serve on the Texas Supreme Court in a regular session of the court;

Broadus Spivey has been involved in over 500 trials and appeals, and has served as the president of both the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
