TYLA to Host 42nd Annual National Trial Competition
By: TYLA National Trial Competition Committee

Each year, TYLA and the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) jointly plan and host the National Trial Competition.

The National Trial Competition was established in 1975 to encourage and strengthen students' advocacy skills through quality competition and valuable interaction with members of the bench and bar. It is the nation’s largest and most prestigious mock trial competition with over 300 law student teams competing in 14 regions across the country. The top two teams of each region – 28 teams total – are invited to compete in the national finals.

This year, the national finals will be held March 23-25 in Fort Worth. Volunteer judges are needed to score the preliminary rounds taking place at the Vandergriff Civil Courts Building, 100 N. Calhoun St., Fort Worth, as follows:

·         ROUND 1: 8:15 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 23

·         ROUND 2: 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 23

·         ROUND 3: 8:15 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 24
