Tools for Winning New Clients

Even before Charlie Sheen was winning, the Texas Young Lawyers Association provided a torpedo of truth for young lawyers to develop new clients and build business.

In February, the Texas Young Lawyers Association launched a new project as part of its member services. Tools for Winning New Clients is a new resource for young lawyers to make contacts and build client relationships.

Whether you work for a firm or for yourself, developing your own clientele is essential to advancing your legal career. Consider marketing yourself to potential clients by offering to speak at a lunch event for a local civic, business, or cultural organization. Speaking to groups is an efficient way to personally connect with potential clients and impress them with your knowledge.

Of course, if you are going to present to a group, it is essential that you have something to talk about. As a service to its members, the Texas Young Lawyers Association has put together a series of presentations covering a variety of general topics. Simply select a topic that is interesting to the proposed group, download the presentation, edit the presentation to include your name and any other information to make it yours, and then present. The Texas Young Lawyers Association gives you the tools to go out and develop new clients.
