Texas Lawyers Assistance Program Needs Volunteers!

Are you a lawyer, judge, or law student who has at least one year recovery from:

- alcohol and drug abuse

- depression, anxiety or other mood disorders, or

- training or experience with substance abuse or mental health issues, including suicide?

Are you interested in being of service to other members of the legal community? If so, we invite you to join our team of volunteers.

Why volunteer?
Imagine how much easier your own recovery could have been if a lawyer with similar personal struggles had been available to share his/her own experience, serving as evidence that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

TLAP volunteers provide peer support for lawyers who are in crisis as a result of from alcohol or drug abuse, as well as for those with mental health issues (depression, anxiety, etc.). As a TLAP volunteer, you would share your experience, strength and hope with another lawyer, provide information about local resources and provide encouragement on their path to recovery.

Why not pay something forward or give something back? There is no greater gift than to be the voice of hope for someone else.
