TYLA and DAYL Diversity, Dinner, and Dialogue: Creating a Culture of Inclusion

Each year the TYLA diversity committee hosts a dinner to helps raise awareness and explore diversity in the legal community. On January 12, 2012, TYLA will host its annual diversity dinner, celebrating a special time for Diversity, Dinner, & Dialogue.  This year’s dinner will focus on “Creating a Culture of Inclusion” and will be held at The City Club in Dallas.

The New York Times bestselling author, Ron Hall will be the keynote speaker and will share his story of his unlikely friendship and life lessons with Denver Moore.  Mr. Denver Moore and Mr. Hall are the co-authors of the book, “Same Kind of Different As Me,” a truly inspiring book that gives hope to its reader through the tale of Mr. Hall’s and Denver Moore’s unlikely friendship.  It is a great story of how two men from opposite worlds can become the best of friends and help each other in ways they could never imagine.

The dinner will also feature a discussion with several panelists including Felicity Fowler with Haynes and Boone, LLP and Robert Jones with American Airlines, Inc.   The event is being co-sponsored by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and is free.  Donations of new or gently used coats, jackets, warm clothes, and toiletries will be collected to benefit the Union Gospel Mission in Ft. Worth, Texas.
