TYLA Project

TYLA Project

The Special Olympics Fall Classic is held each year in Bryan-College Station. More than 1,300 athletes from across the state come to compete in one of four sports (aquatics, bocce ball, golf, and softball). This year is the 15th annual Fall Classic. Along with the athletes, there were more than 300 coaches, 4,000 spectators, and 2,000 volunteers.

Among the volunteers were members of the Texas Young Lawyers Association who met and greeted athletes and their families. TYLA also made available and distributed our handbook “Peace of Mind: A Guide to Supporting Special Kids with Special Needs.” This handbook is intended to guide parents of children who have been diagnosed with a disability, or have other special needs, to navigate unique and unfamiliar legal issues.
